We know we just got through the Christmas and New Year's holiday's and we are starting a new year.  But there is no rest around Southwest Louisiana as we are ready to start celebrating the Mardi Gras season.

It all begins this Saturday night January 6th, 2018 with the inaugural 12th night celebration.  Twelfth night is where the more than 60 Southwest Louisiana Krewes royalty from 2017 take their last bow showing off the costumes from last year.

12th night includes the Kings and Queens from the 60 different Krewe's on parade. One of the fun things going on is people who attend the Twelfth Night celebration and find "babies" in their pieces of King Cake will win prizes throughout the night from various local businesses.

The 12th night celebration is this Saturday night at the Lake Charles Civic Center.  The event is open to the public and tickets are $6 in advance or $7 at the door. Children 5 and under are admitted free.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the 12th night event begins at 7:00 p.m.
