77 Pound Dachshund on Diet to Lose 40 Pounds

We are all suckers when our dogs look at us with those big puppy dog eyes. This is not always healthy.  We just want them to be happy so we give them a treat. Obie the Dachshund is now paying the price for too many treats.

Obie's elderly owners only wanted the best for Obie but ended up over feeding the poor dog. Nora Vanetta, a Portland veterinary technician stepped in and adopted Obie. Obie weighed in at 77 pounds! That's what you would expect e Lab or German Sheppard to weigh. Obie is even to big to exercise. Obie is now battling the extra weight by diet and hydro therapy.
