A Sweet Girl And Her Minnie Mouse

Meet Adalyn Ashley, my granddaughter.  I never thought I would become a Grandmother, until I learned my step-daughter, Shelby, was pregnant with her first child.  The day Adalyn Ashley was born was one of the best days of my life.  They say grandchildren are the reason why you have children; and I firmly believe that.  The first time I held Adalyn I was completely smitten, I started planning all the fun we would do, together.  Most of the plans include shopping, much to her Pop's dismay.

Fast forward two years and this is what you get, a little girl shopping at Target and finding a huge Minnie Mouse stuffy.  No, she didn't go for the dolls or toys.....she went straight for the Minnie Mouse.  She is infatuated with Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, almost to the point of believing they are real.  Her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and singing the "hot dog" song with her Pops and I.  She has learned the Golden Rule of childhood, anything she wants her Pops and I will buy it for her.  We wouldn't have it any other way.

Here we are, Pops, Adalyn, and Meems, pictured on Easter Sunday.  She loves squeezing our heads together and making us kiss.  She knows she is loved and that I have been waiting for her my whole life.  She is my best friend, the one I want to talk with everyday and she is only two.  I have so many stories I want to share with her, helping her grow into the beautiful, self confident woman she is destined to be.  I can not wait for many years of fun and friendship with her.  Our cup runneth over, we are truly blessed.
