So New Orleans Saints fans have been watching this story close waiting to see if all star running back Adrian Peterson will end his free agency and sign with the black and gold.

ESPN just reported about an hour ago that the 2012 NFL MVP Adrian Peterson reached out to the network and says that he plans to sign a two year contract with the New Orleans Saints.

Peterson told ESPN's Josina Anderson Tuesday morning that in 2017 the all pro will receive $3.5 million which will all be guaranteed at signing. Adrian Peterson went on to say that it breaks down to a $1 million guaranteed salary and a $2.5 million signing bonus for the 2017 season.

If Peterson can meet all the incentives in the two year contract, he could make up to 8.5 million dollars for the two years.  Peterson has rushed for 11,747 yards in his nine year career and has 97 touchdowns to his credit.

Peterson will now join Mark Ingram in the backfield for the New Orleans Saints this season.  With the 2017 NFL draft starting on Thursday, the Saints probably will not be looking to draft a running back now since they will ink Peterson.
