Republican members of Congress have sent twice as many tweets as Democrats, according to a Pew Research survey. The most followed senator on Twitter is Arizona’s John McCain, with 1.73 million. The most followed Democrat senator is Claire McCaskill of Missouri, with 58,000. John Boehner of Ohio is the most followed member of the House, with 366,000, and California’s Nancy Pelosi is the most followed House Democrat, with 83,000. Representative Darrell Issa of California is the most-frequent tweeter, averaging 13.6 per day. California Representative Dana Rohrabacher replies the most often: 56.4% of his tweets are replies.
