End of a Late Night Era as Letterman Says Goodbye [VIDEO]

David Letterman said goodbye last night on the Late Show, and another era came to an end.

David was an influence to me so much that I was crazy enough to name one of my children after him. Seriously. My youngest son was born on October 28, 1995 and he was on this planet for over an hour... nameless. Julie didn't like any of my suggestions. I thought hers were kinda lame too. But oddly enough, even after becoming a father for the third time, I had a bad case of the giggles due to antics of Letterman that night. Plus, Paul Shaffer was quite the riot that late evening too.

Then... it hit me! David Paul!

I am the proud dad of four children and out of the four I bet you can't guess who the character is? Ok, maybe the name gave it away.
