LSU legendary half back and Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon passed away over the weekend at the age of 80 years old.

Cannon lead the LSU Tigers to a National Football Championship in 1958 and is a 1959 graduate of LSU. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1959 right before graduating.

He is in the LSU athletic Hall Of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame.

LSU announced that Dr. Cannon's funeral will be held on the LSU campus and will be today in Baton Rouge.

Visitation will start today at Noon at the Pete Maravich Center next to the Tigers football stadium and run until 2:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Both the visitation and funeral are open to the public.
