Frank Avruch, better known as Bozo the Clown, passed away March 20 of heart disease. Avruch played Bozo the Clown from 1959 to 1970, and was the first Bozo the Clown to become nationally syndicated. Avruch took Bozo around the world doing tours for UNICEF and was a board member of the New England Chapter. The character became popular in the 60's due to widespread television franchising. He is survived by several grandchildren, 2 sons of his own, and his wife Betty.
