Brett Young finds himself in solitude as he tries to get over an emotional breakup in the music video for his new single, "Like I Loved You."

The melancholy song finds Young searching for answers from a lost love, exploring the age-old post breakup phrase, "We can still be friends." The video opens with the singer sitting alone in his room, surrounded by glass windows that showcase the overcast skies on a dreary day as he turns over a photograph of his ex. He eventually makes his way to a crowded bar to drink away the pain, watching while everyone around him is in high spirits, enjoying one other's company.

His remorse really escalates when he isolates himself at a table alone until his ex shows up and sits across from him as he emotionally pleads, "And you ain't the love song / I can't keep from singing / I gotta be honest / You really believe that's the truth / You never loved me like I loved you."

"Like I Loved You" is the third single off Young's self-titled debut studio album, which debuted in the No. 2 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums in 2017 and even cracked the Top 20 on the all-genre Billboard 200. It follows two previous hit singles, "Sleep Without You" and "In Case You Didn’t Know," the latter of which become the ToC RISERS act's first No. 1 hit and is certified platinum.

Young revealed at the No. 1 party for "In Case You Didn't Know" that he wrote the song with Trent Tomlinson, Tyler Reeve and Kyle Schlienger during the last day of a retreat in Mexico.
