The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office announced the termination and arrest of one of their own after a weekend incident in Sulphur.

According to a press release, deputy Keith A. Andrus, 44, was arrested after deputies responded to a call of a suspicious woman "knocking on a door in a Sulphur neighborhood." The woman was seen with a blood-covered face, scratches on her arms and neck and possibly a broken nose. The woman pointed out Andrus as her attacker.

Andrus, who was a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at the time of the incident, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.  He was charged with domestic abuse battery. Judge Sharon Wilson set his bond at $500 and he bonded out in the early morning hours of December 14. Andrus was a CPSO deputy who worked in the Civil Division and had been with the department for 22 years before Sheriff Tony Mancuso terminated him today. -- CPSO press release
