As we get closer to Christmas, there are a lot of events in Southwest Louisiana going on around the area.  "Light Up The Lake" is this Saturday Dec. 2nd at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

Then get ready as the Calcasieu Police Jury presents “Christmas at the Courthouse” on Friday, December 8th, 2017.

Santa and Mrs. Claus along with Santa’s elves will be there.  Plus the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and the Nutcracker will all be on hand at the “Christmas at the Courthouse” celebration.

The lighting ceremony of the courthouse will start be at 5:30 p.m. followed by a couple of great kids movies.

They will be showing “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” will begin at 6 p.m., followed by Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”  The Police Jury will be handing out free popcorn, cotton candy, soft drinks and hot chocolate for the movies.

“Christmas at the Courthouse” celebration is Friday, December 8th, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Calcasieu Courthouse.  The Courthouse is located at 1001 Ryan Street in Downtown Lake Charles.
