The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office is once again holding a great event aimed at getting seniors together for a fun day of fishing.

We live in sportsman's paradise, and what better way to get seniors together to meet new people than to hold a fishing derby so our seniors can have some fun catching some fish, too?

Kim Myers with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office says,

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a Senior Citizen’s Fishing Derby  Friday, September 23 from 7:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the CPSO Farm Pond behind the Calcasieu Correctional Center at 5400 E. Broad Street in Lake Charles.

Participants are asked to bring their own fishing gear (only one per person, please).  The CPSO will provide help in baiting the lines, removing fish from the hook, if requested, and bait shrimp for catching catfish.

Refreshments will be furnished.  All senior citizens in the parish age 55 and older are invited at no charge.
