Louisiana State Police have arrested the man they believe responsible for the bomb threat that closed Interstate 210 all Monday morning.

In a press release from Sgt. James Anderson of Troop D, the original call indicated there was a vehicle on fire on the Calcasieu River Bridge on I-210.  When troopers got on the scene, there was no fire. It was then that 24-year-old Jovani A. Galindo of Colton, Calif., indicated there was a bomb inside his vehicle. Police diverted all traffic as a safety precaution. I-210 was shut down in both directions before 6 a.m. and did not reopen until around 12:30 p.m. They found no explosive device in the vehicle.

The Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Unit responded and was assisted by the ATF and FBI as well as the Carlyss Fire Department.  Because of the nature of the call, responders had to methodically evaluate the vehicle to determine if an explosive device was located in the car ... Galindo was arrested for Obstruction of a Highway of Commerce and Criminal Mischief.  He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.  Bond was set at $12,500.  The investigation is continuing.  -- LSP press release
