City of Lake Charles “Light Up the Lake” Now Two Day Event

Due to the McNeese Home playoff game this Saturday, the City Of Lake Charles has once again altered their plans for the upcoming "Light Up the Lake" ceremonies.  It was originally set for a one day event but has now been stretched into a two day festival.

The events will take place on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 and on Sunday December 6th, 2015 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

Here is the time frames now for all the events:

Saturday December 5th, 2015

• The street parades will take place at 11:00 a.m. The parade is from Mill Street, South on Ryan to Dr. Michael Debakey Drive.
• Santa's Workshop from 2pm to 5pm
• The Lake Charles Community Band 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm featuring Rory Parton

Then on Sunday, December 6th, 2015

• The Lighting ceremony from 5:00 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.
• Mickey Smith on Sax at 6:30 p.m - 7:00 p.m. Civic Center Promenade
• Fireworks Extravaganza at 7:00 p.m.
