The 60th anniversary of the legendary Contraband Days festival in Lake Charles is set to start on May 4th, 2017 this year. Different this year is that the festival has been condensed down to one week as far as the entertainment but the carnival will go on for two weeks.

On top of the festival entertainment only being one week, they also have released that admission is FREE!

The entertainment has been set for May 4th-7th this year.  The lineup is:

Thursday, April 4th:

  • Strange Theories
  • Elm’s District

Friday, May 5th:

  • Ron Fruge & Family
  • Knuckle Deep

Saturday, May 6th:

  • Dean Manning
  • Rosedown Rockers
  • Willie, Waylon, Elvis & the Boys
  • Louisiana Express
  • Champagne Room
  • Cupid

Sunday, May 7th:

  • Jeremy Fruge & the Zydeco Hot Boyz
  • Twangsters Union
  • Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Krush

Also included in this years festival is a Children’s Costume Contest, Pirogue Building Contest, cook-offs and on Saturday, May 13th they will have the Seven Slot Society Jeep, Car & Truck Show.
