You'd think that with such a successful start to his music career Chris Lane would be living his dream, but country music wasn't actually Chris' first career choice.

I know what you're thinking "how could a dude with a voice like an angel want to be anything other than a country music singer?" and I completely agree with you, especially since Chris Lane's "Fix" is one of my favorite songs on the radio right now.

But before the country crooner got his start he had his sites set on swinging for the fences, literally, Chris wanted to play professional baseball. He was even good enough to play college ball, but kept getting injured and eventually came to the realization that his pro dreams weren't going to happen.

So, how did Chris switch gears to music? It all happened at a Keith Urban concert! Chris said he was "inspired by him to learn how to play the guitar, and I was decent enough that I could start a cover band, so I did that [and] here I am today."

With his debut album "Girl Problems" dropping on August 5th I think it's safe to say that Chris Lane made the right career move. But if he does decide to take another swing at baseball I will totally cheer for his team.
