Ford is halting production on their Ford F-150 series line due to a fire that happened in their supplier plants in Michigan. Being the best selling line in the history of Ford, the F-150 shut down will hurt, but not as bad as it could. Ford claims they have enough assembled units to last them over 80 days, combined with dealers keeping their lots stocked full for customers to choose from. Earlier in the year, Ford decided to shut down its production plant in Montana as well. That combination with this unexpected shut down will have the company scrounging to get the plant back up and running as fast as possible. It is expected to take several weeks to get the supplier plant up and running and for the Built Ford Tough trucks to start rolling off the line again.
