In Louisiana we're known for throwing a multitude of things in the black iron pot, letting it simmer, and serving it over rice. It's the combination of flavors that makes our cooking so unique. Here at the radio station we started chatting about food and some of the strange combinations that you've encountered over the years. Here are our top 5, or would that be bottom 5?

    Goldfish Crackers in Milk

That would be like a cheese cereal right? Goldfish by themselves are okay. Milk by itself is okay. The combination of the two seems beyond disgusting. I have never in my life heard of anyone ordering a cheese milk and I have been to Wisconsin. I don't think there is enough money to get me to try Goldfish and milk.

    Ketchup in a Coke

Dear God in Heaven. What kind of parasite do you have in your digestive system if that seems appealing to you? Coke makes a great mixer. You can mix it with a lot of things for a great tasting beverage. Ketchup is not one of those things. There is a reason they don't make tomato cola. Wait, there are a lot of reasons they don't make tomato cola.

    Mustard on Oatmeal

I am getting just a bit nauseated thinking of how that might look. The only yellow I want on my oatmeal is none. I don't even want butter. Brown sugar and cinnamon and apples and even blueberries and strawberries are great. Let's leave the mustard to the hot dogs, hamburgers, and vodka drinks.

    Pepper on Chocolate Ice Cream

There should be a psychiatric evaluation ordered for the person that does this. I am assuming it is only one person and not several persons. Why would you want to add a burn to the creamy coolness of chocolate ice cream? Not only would it add a funky taste but you could feel the grit of the pepper in every bite.

Banana and Ketchup Sandwich on White Bread

Bananas are a versatile food. They can add flavor to a lot  of great things like pudding, nut bread, and cream pie. They don't go well with ketchup. I don't think even pregnant women could stomach this odd combination of flavors and textures. I am afraid my tongue would explode trying to figure out why I hated my body so much I was putting this nonsense in my mouth.
