So most people tease politicians and always disagree with their views and actions.  Do you think sometimes if people even care about debates this far off from the actual presidential election?  Well last night proved people really do care and they showed up in full force to watch the highly anticipated debate.

Last night, Fox aired the first Republican debate featuring 17 Republican candidates.  Republican presidential candidates New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Rand Paul and John Kasich were the canidates that were in the debate.

The debate broke a record with over 24 million viewers who tuned into the debate according to the Nielsen ratings.  Of the 24 million viewers, 7.9 million were in the key advertising demographic of 25 to 54 year old.

One of the big reasons that viewers tuned in were to see Republican front runner Donald Trump in his first debate and how he would do against the like of Jeb Bush and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Did you watch?  Well things are just getting started.  This should get interesting!  The next debate will be on Wednesday September 16th and will be live on CNN.
