The Louisiana State Police is hosting a great event geared toward making sure that care givers for children have the proper car seats for their babies or toddlers.  You can go by and have the professionals check out your seat to make sure you have the proper restraints for your child at no charge.

It's the Child Passenger Safety Check Event in Lake Charles this Saturday morning February 25th.  The event will take place at Southwest Beverage located at 3860 Broad Street in Lake Charles (east of I-210, across the street from Troop D) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

According to Sgt. James Anderson:

It is estimated at least 3 out of 4 child restraint systems are being misused.  This free child passenger safety check event is a great opportunity for caregivers to ensure their child is in an age and weight appropriate child restraint and to have that child restraint checked and/or installed free of charge.

Child safety seats and booster seats save lives. Support for this event is provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission and Southwest Beverage.

So make sure to go by this Saturday morning to make sure that you have the proper seat for your child or grand child.
