UPDATE:  Due to the large number of expected visitors, the visitation on Friday night has been moved to the Rosa Hart Theater in the Lake Charles Civic Center for the same time period. All other information remains the same.

Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent will be laid to rest on Saturday, Aug. 29 in Lacassine. State Police announced funeral plans today via press release.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 28 from 3-9 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home on Lake Street in Lake Charles, continuing Saturday morning from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at noon at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, also on Lake Street. Burial will follow in Lacassine at the Lacassine Cemetery on the corner of Ann Street and U.S. 90.

Vincent was killed in the line of duty on Sunday.

Senior Trooper Steven Vincent succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning after he was shot by a suspect during the course of a traffic incident this past Sunday afternoon.  Trooper Vincent is survived by his wife Katherine, 9-year-old son Ethan, his brothers, Louisiana State Police Trooper Terrell Vincent and Town of Iowa Police Chief Keith Vincent, as well as a large extended family.

The Vincent family and Troopers from across the state have been touched by the incredible outpouring of support received from across the nation and across the world.  Whereas many local fundraising efforts are being conducted by legitimate organizations, Troopers urge the public to be cautious when making monetary donations to unfamiliar sources. -- LSP press release
