Atkins has landed an impressive six songs at the top of the Country music charts, including the most recent platinum-selling chart-topper, "Take A Back Road," and has over five million single sales in the past five years alone. In 2007, Rodney was named ACM's Top New Male Vocalist while also garnering back-to-back recognition with Billboard's Most Played Song of the Year Award for "If You're Going Through Hell" (2006) and "Watching You" (2007).

Southwest Louisiana has also been asking for more Texas Country, and Gator 99.5 has listened.  That's why we'll kick off the Rodney Atkins show with a major Texas Country opening act...

We're proud to present country music artist Aaron Watson as the opener of the show.  Both acts will take the stage at the Rosa Hart Theater.  Known as ‘The Honky Tonk Kid’, Aaron Watson’s latest album, The Road & The Rodeo, released in 2010, gave country music the songs “Walls” and “Best for Last” -- both country hits for Texas Radio.  Watson is currently recording his eleventh album, due to hit shelves soon.
