A group of Salt Lake City retirees had a long standing custom of meeting at a local deli for coffee every Saturday. They'd sip their Joe & swap stories. After some time, they'd pretty much heard each other's best stuff. The Washington Post reports, they decided to break the routine, set up a card table at a local farmers market, and offer free advice. The whole ting was tongue in cheek at first. They hoisted a banner that read, " Old coots giving advice. It's probably bad advice, but it's free." Before they knew it, people were taking them seriously, and stopping by with serious questions. It may be easy to dismiss old folks as "senile," or having "lost it." The fact is, they've been around the block, and have a lot of wisdom to offer if you have the patience to wait while they take their time sharing it.
