Summer has ended, but that doesn't mean you can't squeeze a little "summer" shopping in with your BBQ plans this weekend.  I delved into the internet world trying to find awesome deals for shopping this weekend and here are a few insider tidbits I found.  You can thank me later.

Speaking of BBQ's, do you need new patio furniture?  Many stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart are slashing their outdoor departments with some major deals, like 50%-75% off in-stock.  A little scratch and dent doesn't scare you, buy and take home the same day.  New paint, new pillows and you have a new patio set for bonfires and s'mores during the cool Fall nights.

Need to book that last minute cruise over Thanksgiving holiday?  Major travel discounts for many places that are not as desirable to travel to this time of year, like the Caribbean or Mexico.  Contact all major cruise lines, like Carnival Cruise Lines, they have discounts near 40% off certain destinations (ones that may or may not have a hurricane plow through their island the last months of hurricane season).

Quick NOLA trip to see the Saints play?  Orbitz.com and Hotels.com are offering an extra 5% discount when you book by September 7; must book two or more adjacent dates to receive the additional discount.

My favorite, buying summer apparel for next year.  Shorts, sandals, sun dresses, bathing suits, all marked down between 50%-75% off.  JCPenny and Kohl's are adding in-store coupons and you may get the item for free!  Trust me, I have done that.  I have even received a gift card for using coupons and discounts.

Need a new mattress?  Go get one this weekend.  Labor Day mattress sales rivals any other mattress sales for the year.  Overstock.com and Sears will have the best mattress deals.  With 50% off select styles, and an additional 10%-15% off additionally marked down items with web or in-store coupons.

Bid summer adieu by shopping, it makes my heart smile when I buy something new.
