The gun George Zimmerman used to kill Trayvon Martin is up for auction with a starting bid of $5,000.

Zimmerman posted the Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun, calling it an "American Firearm Icon."

I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon. The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012.

In 2012, Zimmerman was acquitted of murdering Martin. The Martin family attorney told TMZ the listing was like a slap in the face,

It is insulting to this family that he would decide that he would sell the gun that he killed their child with. Think about what that means: This is a gun that took a child’s life and now he wants to make money off of it.

The gun was originally listed on Gunbroker.com and Zimmerman claimed he would use the money from the sale to oppose Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The listing was yanked down earlier today, but was relisted on another site. According to unitedgungroup.com, their stance is they have no objections to listing Zimmerman's gun, regardless of it being controversial.

it "comes down to a moral decision for George to do what he wants with his property."

Many feel like Zimmerman is being disrespectful. Do you agree?
