High School Scoreboard!
Let's find out how your high school did in the gridiron...
Friday's Games
Barbe 42, LaGrange 18
After a sluggish start, Barbe did what it does best, leaning on the right arm of Kennon Fontenot and the legs of Trey Quinn. Two lighting-quick strikes later, order was restored. Behind their all-state duo, the Bucs (2-0) knocked off a feisty but young mistake-prone LaGrange team. Don't be fooled by the score... this was a VERY physical game at first.
Grand Lake 42, Gueydan 22
In front of a crowd so big it couldn’t be contained in the bleachers, the Grand Lake football team won its first home game in 53 years by beating the tar out of Gueydan.
Washington-Marion 18, Sam Houston 17
With the Mighty Bronco defensive front taking away the run, the Charging Indians were forced to go to the air. That’s where having quarterback Quajae Boutte came in handy. Boutte threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns while scrambling for another to lead the Charging Indians to an win at Sam Houston.
Holy Cross 38, Sulphur 13
Mistakes and penalties in the first half proved to be insurmountable for Sulphur. Two touchdowns in the opening 7 minutes helped Holy Cross knock off the Tors in a nondistrict game. An interception led to one of the scores, as Holy Cross (2-0) scored 10 points off Sulphur turnovers and made the Tors play from behind all night. Holy Cross has the reputation of football dominace...yeah...they showed it. ALOT!
