If a baby pelican gets separated from its parents, how does it learn to fly?  Well, it turns out you can teach it by flapping your own human arms!

Or at least, that's what these people in Tanzania, Africa, did. They run a camp and found the baby pelican -- who is now named 'Big Bird' -- after a storm. With no relatives to teach him how to fly, the humans had to fill in that role. It seems to have worked, and just for giggles, they seem to have strapped a camera to his beak so they could watch him in progress.

Technically, this seems to be a commercial for the camera, but it's also a pretty incredible view of what it must be like to fly. Yes, it might be a little disconcerting that people are strapping cameras to poor baby birds, but you can't argue with the results.
