"My dream for this totally grass roots organized event is that it becomes a monthly roving litter clean up where ordinary citizens come together to clean up a different spot every month," says Lake Charles native John O'Donnell.

An idea that was sparked as O'Donnell was walking along the I-10 beach has turned into a "grass roots" event as he puts it. His dream is for this to become a monthly event where citizens of the Lake Area get out and help pick up litter in their area, or areas that the group intends to focus on.

This month's event will focus on the I-10 Beach. He invites people of all ages to come help and pick up trash. Bring kayaks, chest waders, grabbers, trash bags, or just yourself. Enjoy the SWLA Weather and help keep our city clean.
