JCPenney’s to Close 40 Stores — No Louisiana Locations on the List

Tough times continue for many brick-and-mortar stores around the U.S., and JCPenney announced today they plan to close 40 stores nationwide. Luckily for Louisiana, we're not on that list.

One Texas store -- in Brenham at the Market Square Mall -- will be closing, but the majority of the closures are hitting the Midwest, like Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and the West Coast, like Massachusetts, New Jersey and North Carolina

A total of 2,250 jobs will be cut, most starting in April. A total of 4 percent of the chain's stores are closing, according to The Huffington Post, which has a full list of closures.
