It was about this time yesterday when I had learned that my childhood hero had died. His name was Virgil Runnels but the wrestling world knew him as "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. He was 69.

Rhodes was a WWE Hall of Famer and multi NWA World Heavyweight Champion. His feuds with Ric Flair and the Four Horseman were legendary.

Where most of the young wrestling fans were following Hulk Hogan's advice of train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins... I chose to follow the son of a plummer. Don't get me wrong, that was not a slam against The Hulkster, I just related more to Rhodes character.

Two sons would follow his path to the squared circle. Dustin and Cody Rhodes are both WWE competitors today.
