Lady Antebellum‘s long awaited album Heart Break drops June 9, and the trio recently shared the inspiration behind their new songs with Taste of Country. The project contains two songs inspired by their families.

Composed of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, Lady A took a new approach with Heart Break, working with buzzworthy producer busbee, whose collaborations with Maren Morris, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban put him on country music’s mainstream map.

The 13-track album includes 11 songs co-written by Lady Antebellum, one of which is about each of the band members’ children. It’s their first album since taking a break of nearly a year to pursue other interests.

“There’s a song that we wrote that’s about our kids that’s really special to us,” says Scott. “It’s about our kids, but I feel like it can be about anybody that you love.”

Look for more country stars to share these types of songs as they grow their families. Carrie Underwood already jumped onboard in 2015 when she released her child-inspired song “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted.” Eric Church‘s “Three Year Old” from 2015’s Mr. Misunderstood is another toddler inspired tune that made a high-profile country album in recent years.

Besides the homage to their children, Lady A didn’t forget about their significant others on this album.

“There’s another song we wrote that’s about each of our spouses,” Scott says. “I think definitely one of the biggest blessings about this break was that we got to live and make memories and obviously had things going on, but have really great quality time with our families. When you’re just living life, you have ups and you have downs and that’s where we find our inspiration from.”

Heart Break’s first single, the funk-infused “You Look Good,” currently has over 9 million streams on Spotify.
