Lake Charles Native Crowned Miss Louisiana USA
Lake Charles native, Maaliyah Papillion, has been crowned Miss Louisiana USA 2016.
And, as if that wasn't cool enough, the first runner-up, Bethany Trahan is also from Calcasieu Parish! Maaliyah Papillion will be representing Lake Charles and Louisiana in the 2016 Miss USA Pageant. I usually try to tune in to the Miss USA Pageant, but you better believe I won't miss a minute with Lake Charles reppin' on the big day! According to KPLC "Louisiana is one of only seven states to have three or more Miss USA winners — in 1958, 1961, and 1996", and I have a feeling we're going to be able to add a "2016" to that list. Maaliyah is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to hear more about her platform and plan for Miss USA 2016.
