Lake Charles Shifts Mardi Gras Parade Route [PHOTO]
| February 9, 2012 Mardi Gras parade routes will be shifting this year, thanks to construction in the downtown area. The City of Lake Charles and Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana released the new route map yesterday.

As you can see above, the route will follow Bord du Lac Drive toward Mill Street, turning right onto Ryan and heading south toward Sale Road. To see the entire map, you can download this .pdf file.
The new routes will affect the Merchants’ Parade on Friday, Feb. 17; the Children’s Parade on Sunday, Feb. 19; and the Hot Rods, Motorcycles and Classics Parade and Krewe of Krewes’ Parade, both on Mardi Gras, Tuesday, Feb. 21.
