Though LeAnn Rimes has been through career highs and lows, she's proven over the years that she's a spitfire -- and she's not going to let anyone keep her down. Rimes has announced a new record deal with RCA Label Group UK, and she'll be releasing her 16th album this year.

“So excited to announce that I’ve just signed a new record deal with RCA Label Group UK & will be releasing my 16th album this year!” Rimes posted on Twitter on June 13. “Can’t wait to share my new music with you all… ‪#‎TheStory.‬”

RCA-UK includes artists Christina Aguilera, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Meghan Trainor, Beyoncé, Pitbull and Britney Spears, among other top-notch artists.

Rimes' first single for RCA-UK, "The Story," will be released on Friday (June 24). It was originally recorded by Brandi Carlile and was the title track to her 2007 record. "The Story" was written by Phil Hanseroth and gained much popularity by its feature on television show Grey's Anatony in 2007.

"I fully embrace the journey I am on and have a deeper understanding of how every piece of my story serves a purpose in my evolution as a woman and an artist," says Rimes (quote via Rolling Stone). "This song is not only a love song but a song of self-acceptance and appreciation for life."

To say Rimes loves her new single is an understatement. She posted to Twitter recently, saying, "Literally cannot get through without crying. So emotional! I think it's the excitement and gratitude getting straight to my heart."

Darrell Brown, producer of Rimes' previous record Spitfire, is working with Rimes on her new album.

Most recently, she released a holiday album Today Is Christmas in 2015 and co-wrote two of the tracks. Stay tuned for more news on Rimes' forthcoming music!
