The LHSAA state baseball tournament will be wrapping up today at McMurray Park in Sulphur as seven teams will be crowned state champions in their respective classifications. Semi-final action began on Thursday with the class C, B, and 4A semi-finals and continued yesterday with the semi-finals for classes 1A, 2A, 3A, and 5A.

In the class C semi-finals, the one seed Elizabeth defeated the fourth seed Summefield 13-3 and the third seed Claiborne Christian defeated the two seed Downsville 12-5. Elizabeth and Claiborne Christian will meet in the class C championship game today at 1:00 on field 37.

In the class B semi-finals, ninth seeded Fairview defeated fifth seeded Maurepas 4-0 and second seeded Florien defeated third seeded Choudrant 1-0. Fairview and Florien will play for the class B state championship at noon on field 40.

In class 1A, top seeded Ouachita Christian defeated fifth seeded Covenant Christian 3-2 and St. Edmund defeated Central Catholic 8-1. Ouachita Christian will play St. Edmund for the 1A state title at 4:00 on field 37.

In class 2A, fourth seeded Kinder defeated top seeded Doyle 6-1 and the three seed Oak Grove defeated second seeded Runnels 5-1. Kinder and Oak Grove meet for the 2A state title today at 3:00 on field 40.

In class 3A, fifth seeded Parkview Baptist defeated top seeded Evangel 5-4 and third seeded Iowa fell to the second seeded John Curtis 3-2. Parkview Baptist and John Curtis will play for the 3A title at 6:00 on field 40.

In class 4A, fifth seeded Teurlings Catholic defeated the top seed Tioga 16-1 and the two seed St. Thomas More defeated the six seed St. Michael the Archangel 12-2. Teurlings Catholic and St. Thomas More will meet for the class 4A state championship today at 2:00 on field 41.

Finally, in class 5A, the defending national champion Barbe Bucs kept their season alive by defeating the top seeded Sulphur Golden Tors 4-3 and the second seed Catholic (BR) defeated the fourteenth seed Brother Martin 1-0. Barbe will play Catholic (BR) today at 5:00 on field 41.
