Barbe High School was put on lockdown this morning, with SWAT and CPSO responding to reports of a possible subject with a weapon on campus. SJ Welsh also went on a cautionary perimeter lockdown due to the incident at Barbe.

Sheriff Tony Mancuso said officers responded to a call at 10:48 this morning of a student on campus with a possible firearm. Officers were on the scene within minutes, where they reviewed surveillance camera footage and located the subject. No firearm was found on the student.

Despite rumors circulating on social media, no shots were fired and no one was injured.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident, and have stressed that all students and faculty are safe at this time.
