The Click it or Ticket campaign has officially kicked off today, and will run through Labor day weekend. Early this week, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office announced that they will be participating in the campaign.

Yesterday, the Louisiana State Police (LSP) announced that they are on board as well with the Click it or Ticket campaign, and tonight they will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Calcasieu Parish.

Sgt. James Anderson with the LSP said,

In an effort to combat impaired driving in our area, Louisiana State Police Troop D plans to conduct a DWI checkpoint on Friday, August 19, 2016, from approximately 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Calcasieu Parish.  Our mission will be to detect and arrest impaired drivers before they cause injury or death to themselves or others.

So please be careful this weekend and always, always have a designated driver.
