Elf on the Shelf has become extremely popular in recent years but now LSU has one of their very own. The LSU Elf is named Tabasceaux from LSU's College of Agriculture and he's popping up all over Baton Rouge. For now the elf is appearing in pictures but the plan is to use him as a recruitment tool to show the connection between Christmas and Louisiana Agriculture.

While the elf is intended to promote the college he's also spreading smiles and Christmas joy all over campus. According to the elf himself he's reported back to Santa that LSU students have been very good this year. The college says they are turning their Elf on the Shelf into a yearly tradition students and fans can look forward to seeing each December.

In recent years, LSU has become known for getting into celebrating the Christmas holiday.  You may remember last year's viral video of the football team reading "The Cajun Night Before Christmas".
