LSU took no time in replacing Kevin Steele who left the Tigers program to take a job at Auburn University as the new Auburn defensive coordinator.

Head Coach Les Miles announced Friday night that LSU found Steele's replacement.  The Tigers hired Dave Aranda as LSU’s new defensive coordinator.

Aranda has been the man responsible for a Top-10 defense at Wisconsin for the past three years.  When asked by the media, head caoch Les Miles said:

“This is a great hire for us,” Miles said. “Dave has an outstanding track record of producing some of the best defenses in college football. We’ve seen him up close and understand how difficult it is to have success against him.

He’s everything that we were looking for in a defensive coordinator. He’s youthful with tremendous enthusiasm; our players are going to love him. He brings great defensive knowledge to our staff both as a technician and as a strategist. We are thrilled that he’s joining us.”

Coincidentally the Tigers will kick off the 2016 season on September 3rd against Aranda's former team, Wisconsin in Green Bay, Wisconsin when the Tigers take on the Badgers in Lambeau Field.
