Magnitude-7.1 Quake Shakes Southern Chile
This is just too many quakes for comfort lately! Last week Indiana, before that off the western Pacific, this week it’s Southern Chile. Sure a lot of activity lately all around the same time.
A magnitude-7.1 earthquake shook southern Chile on Sunday, frightening hundreds of people who fled for higher ground fearing it could generate a tsunami like the one that ravaged the coastline last year.
The last two quakes we’ve reported were 7.0 and above, this is crazy. I hope we never have to deal with any of that mess in Louisiana. Hurricanes are scary enough. We are used to being prepared for those. I can’t begin to imagine bracing for an earth quake.
