Is it just me or is there a glaring similarity between the way the Cowboys and Tigers lost last night? A strong running game will win some ball games. A strong passing game will win some games; but you have to be able to do both to win a championship. Neither team was able to do that consistently last night.

The Tigers had not had an effective passing game all night and for some reason decided to do nothing but pass in overtime. The results were disastrous for LSU. Anthony Jennings was 8 of 28 passing in the game including four incomplete passes in a row in overtime. Why would you rely solely on his arm in overtime? Maybe Tigers Coach Les Miles ate some bad grass. Alabama's touchdown pass in overtime sealed a 17-10 Tide  victory in Death Valley. The Tigers travel to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks net week.

The Pokes lost Daniel Sams early in the game, A finger injury has knocked him out for the season.  Before Sams exited he threw the game's first interception.  While Tyler Bolfing had a good night (going 21 of 40 for 198 yards and a touchdown) the Cowboys running game was held to nine yards in the second half. The end result was a Stephen F. Austin 31-16 victory at Cowboy Stadium. The Cowboys (6-3 for the season 4-2 in conference) have a tough road game next week when they take on Southeastern Louisiana.
