The McNeese Baseball team is having a dream season.  This weekend the pokes took two of three games over Northwestern State and stayed in first place in the Southland Conference (SLC).

The Cowboys beat Northwestern State 13-4 on Friday before dropping the Saturday game 7-4.  McNeese then rallied on Sunday for a 5-4 victory to take the weekend series.

McNeese is 28-11 on the season and an impressive 18-3 in SLC play. The Cowboys conference record is the best start for the baseball team in school history. They are in first place in the Southland Conference by 3 1/2 games.

Next up for the pokes is an inner state game against the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana Lafayette this Wednesday night April 26th.  The game will be played in Lafayette at 6:00 p.m.
