UPDATE:  Spring Game has been moved to 2 p.m. today due to the weather.

The McNeese Cowboys football team have been hard at work at practice and has even had two public scrimmages.  Now the team is ready to participate in their annual Spring football game today at Cowboy's stadium here in Lake Charles.

Usually the teams would be split up into offense vs. the defense, but this year the Cowboys will split into two teams and play four 10-minute quarters.

Sports information director Matt Bonnette says:

The teams will be split with the No. 1 offense and No. 2 defense making up Team Cowboys while the No. 2 offense and No. 1 defense will be Team McNeese.

"It brings a little more excitement to it but it also allows the offense and the defense to team up together. We don't have enough players to split down the middle but by doing it this way, we can divide into two teams.

"All the offensive guys will have white jerseys and all the defensive guys will have blue, so now we can move them around if needed."
