McNeese Football Gets Rematch With Sam Houston State In FCS 2nd Round Playoffs Saturday

Well pokes fans, our team had the week off and were glued to the TV Saturday afternoon to see who their opponent would be between the winner of the Southern Utah and Sam Houston State game.

Well as luck would have it, Sam Houston State beat Southern Utah Saturday 42-39 to advance to the second round and get a rematch with the McNeese Cowboys.  McNeese and Sam Houston are Southland conference foes and have already played once this year in Lake Charles.  The Cowboys defeated Sam Houston 27-10 this year.

The Cowboys who are a perfect 10-0 on the season will now have to do something no team likes to have to do which is beat the same team twice.  The good thing is that the second game will also be right here on the pokes own home field.

The Cowboys and Bearkats will lock up this Saturday December 5th at Cowboys stadium in the second round of the FCS playoffs.  Kick off for the game will be at 6:00 p.m.

Ticket prices are: $25 for reserved seating; $20 adult general admission; $15 senior citizen general admission; $10 general admission for youth ages 13-17; $5 general admission for youth ages 4-12. McNeese students with a valid ID should check with the Office of Student Services for tickets.
