McNeese Football Is Close As Pokes Put On the Pads For First Time

Football practice in shorts is tough in this weather; but it's not really football practice until the pads go on.

The pads went on and the "Pit Bull" drilled followed with defensive players going one on one. It was a spirited practice for the pokes yesterday. The Pokes are pretty deep on the defensive line but are counting on younger players at linebacker and in the defensive backfield. Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry was very please with the younger players "speed, quickness and physicality." The Pokes open the season on September 6th at Lincoln to take on Nebraska.
