You know that feeling when you know something is coming up that you can't wait for?  Well that is how I feel about football season especially College football season.

The 2017 College football season is just a little over a month away and for the McNeese Cowboys it is time to start preparing for the upcoming 2017 season.

Sports information director Matt Bonnette announced yesterday that the pokes football team's will start reporting on Tuesday, August 1st.  The team will hit the field on August 2nd for their first day of practice.

All practices are closed to the public but good news Cowboy fans, you will have two opportunities to watch the pokes before they start the regular season.

They will hold two scrimmages during Fall camp.  The first one will be on Saturday, August 12th at 6 p.m. and will be inside Cowboy Stadium.  Then on Saturday, August 19th at 9:45 a.m. at the A.I. Ratcliff Practice Fields.

Both scrimmages are open to the public and free.  The Cowboys open up the 2017 football season on the road on a rare Thursday night game on August 31st at Nicholls.
