Mike Soileau Now Your New Afternoon Host On Gator 99.5

Hey y'all! I wanted to drop everyone a quick line and let everyone know that starting today, I take over the afternoon show right here on Gator 99.5 FM.  My show will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I am extremely excited and humbled that I was asked to take over the show from the now-retired Dale Mann.  Me and Dale have been great friends now for years now and I am honored to take over the coveted afternoon show on the most powerful radio station in the Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana market!  I know I will never fill Dale's boots but I will try my best.

For those of you who may not know me, I wanted to tell you a little about myself.

I was born and raised right here in Southwest Louisiana and have lived here in Lake Charles most of my life.

I went to Lagrange High School and McNeese State University in Lake Charles.

I started in radio in 1990 at KLCL AM and then LA99. Since then I have been on the airways in Southwest Louisiana for 25 years now. I have always worked in radio right here at home.

In 1995 I had the honor of launching our sister station Cajun Radio 1470 & 1290 AM's which has been on the air for 10 years now. I am no stranger to Gator 99.5 as I once hosted the morning show and also hosted the midday show with the "All Request Rodeo" lunch hour and the "Gator Backstage Pass".

Outside of the studio, you can find me emceeing many of the biggest festivals in the area like the Iowa Rabbit Festival, Marshland Festival and the Coushatta Crossroads Festival.

My favorite country artist of all time is George Strait!  When it comes to classic country I love Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart, Kenny Rogers and George Jones.

As far as the newer artist, I like Jamie Johnson, Chris Young, Easton Corbin, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Justin Moore, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean.

In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, fishing and going to concerts.  But most of all I love hanging out in my bar in my backyard, cranking up country music and of course drinking a beer!  (See My Bar Below)

As I take over the afternoon show, I want us to all have fun and I plan to do that with you! So saddle up and come along for the ride!
