So yesterday I was on my way to a company function when my phone started blowing up with texts and email's about the news that country music legend Merle Haggard had passed away at the age of 79.

I almost drove off the road. If you don't know, I am a huge fan of country music and especially classic country. My favorite artists are Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, George Jones and Merle Haggard.

Back last year in January 2015 I was blessed to see Merle Haggard in concert while i was in Florida visiting my sister. It was an hour and a half of great country music. One thing I did noticed though was that Merle seemed to tire as the concert went on.

With Merle's passing yesterday, It got me thinking about my favorite songs from Merle Haggard and I wanted to share with you my top 5.
