Last year 63 deaths due to impaired drivers were investigated by the Louisiana State Police. Last Saturday a motorcyclist in Jeff Davis Parish was struck head on and killed by what was believed to be an impaired driver. With a holiday weekend this weekend ... we thought it was good time to remind you to be careful and to designate a driver.

38 year old Clayton Jack of Ville Platte was driving a 2003 Mercury Marquis when he crossed the center line on LA 383 and struck motorcyclist Brian D Hackenbrunch. Hackenbrunch dies from his juries while Jack was transported to a Lake Charles hospital for treatment.

The press release from the State Police states that Impairment on the part of Jack is suspected to be a factor in the crash and charges are pending.
