It was the highest NASA has flown in 40 years. Yesterday's inaugural launch of an Orion spacecraft went of flawlessly. This is the vehicle that will carry astronauts to Mars in 2030.

There were no humans on board for this test flight. According to WWL the craft carried bundles of toys and memorabilia were on board: bits of moon dust; the crew patch worn by Sally Ride, America's first spacewoman; a Capt. James Kirk collector's doll owned by "Star Trek" actor William Shatner, and more. Here is the video of the liftoff.
